Joshua Litterio is from Brockton Massachusetts and currently resides in Walpole, Massachusetts. Joshua graduated from Stonehill College (‘21) with a B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Photonics. At Stonehill, they worked with Professor Louis J. Liotta, Ph.D. on the optimization and synthesis of tetrahydroxylated indolizidines, from an iminosugar methodology; and was a recipient of the ACS Organic Chemistry Division award and the William C. LaPlante Scholarship in recognition of their contributions. Joshua has a passion for organic pedagogy and synthesis and hopes to use these skills in addition to NMR methodology to better understand chemical systems and processes not well defined or understood.
In their spare time, they volunteer as a mentor for the Alray Scholars Program and formerly served as principal bassoonist and secretary for the Parkway Concert Orchestra of Norwood, Massachusetts. Joshua is an avid runner who has completed multiple half-marathons and is a dog parent to their 8-year-old English bulldog.
